TimesMachine is a digital time capsule that lets anyone dive into the print archive of The New York Times, stretching all the way back to the very first issue in 1851. It is designed to feel like browsing on an old-school microfiche machine.
Users can flip through pages exactly as they originally looked in print, complete with historical photos and advertisements. The entire archive is fully tagged by topic and searchable, making it easy to dig up articles across decades of reporting.
